March Webinar - Strategic Networking: Learn How to Build Stronger Connections that Fast-Track Your Career or Business with Wendy Beecham

Are you good at creating connections? For some women leaders, networking does not come naturally and is often viewed as the last thing on the priority list. But there’s a difference between casual networking and STRATEGIC networking to create connectedness.

There’s no doubt that strategic networking opens up a whole new world of possibilities. The majority of executive-level roles are filled through personal connections. In fact, McKinsey’s Centered Leadership study first published in October 2008 in the McKinsey Quarterly found that “women with strong networks and good mentors enjoy promotions, higher pay and greater career satisfaction.

Besides helping break into the power circles, strong networks make it easier to find best practices for new challenges, provide someone to turn to in a crisis, and delivers a greater sense of belonging.

Strategic networking can also help you land a seat on the board of directors. Considering that women hold only 15.2% of board seats in Fortune 500 companies and a measly 10.6% in California’s top 400 public companies2, we can use all the help we can get.

This fast-paced webinar will provide you with the skills you need to start strategic networking immediately. We’ll review why creating connections is essential to business and personal success; review fascinating research on the differences between how men and women network, discuss how to leverage personal and professional connections, explore real-world examples of women who have used strategic networking to achieve their goals, and walk through practical, step-by-step instructions that will enable you to build, grow and foster a goal-focused strategic network.

Prior to FWE&E, Wendy held a variety of senior leadership roles in the electronic publishing industry, including senior vice president of a division at LexisNexis Group and managing director of London-based Sweet & Maxwell Group (a legal division of the Thomson Corporation).
